How Trey Got His Start
After graduating from Southern Methodist University, Trey worked as the Vice President of Corporate Banking for Amegy Bank. After working in corporate finance, Trey realized there was an area of financial need for Texas business and homeowners that simply wasn’t being met in an ethical and effective way – property tax loans. The more he thought of the need for a business to offer property tax loans that helped fellow Texans stay in their homes and achieve financial recovery, the more he wanted to build one. In 2012, he started Home Tax Solutions.
The History of Home Tax Solutions
Trey started Home Tax Solutions from his kitchen table. After spending several years working in the finance industry, Trey realized that one financial need many Texans shared was an affordable way to get out of the debt surrounding delinquent property tax payments. Because Texas doesn’t collect state income tax, it has some of the highest property tax rates in the U.S. Many Texas homeowners struggle to pay their annual bills, and if they fall behind, the high fees and interest rates associated with late payment can make it difficult to get ahead. That’s why Trey decided to create a lending company that would offer loans with reasonable interest rates that could help homeowners break free from the endless cycle of late property tax payment and struggling to cover exorbitant penalties and interest rates. Home Tax Solutions is that company, and since opening our doors, we’ve been offering reasonable interest rates and property tax loan terms to help Texans break free from property tax debt.

Since 2017, our company has shown 50% year over year increased revenue and we’ve closed 1 in 3 new property tax loans in the state.
