Home Tax Solutions recently completed its first 144A tax lien securitization. Guggenheim Securities arranged the transaction and served as the Sole Structuring Advisor and Bookruuner. The transaction included $105 million in asset-backed notes, which received an “A” Rating from Kroll Bond Rating Agency. While this is really existing for us, we know that many of our clients may not know how meaningful this really is or the possibilities it creates going forward. What is Securitization?
Securitization is a process in which certain types of assets are pooled so that they can be repackaged into marketable securities referred to as asset-backed securities (ABS) and offered in the capital markets. These securities typically include structural features that may help protect against loss and improve liquidity, including prioritization of payments, and diversity of payers within each underlying asset pool.
