After starting his career in banking, founder and CEO Trey Rome left his position as a Vice President in the private equity acquisition finance group at Amegy Bank because he had that “entrepreneurial itch.” A graduate of Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business, Trey always knew that he wanted to start his own company where he could improve an industry, help people, and make money at the same time. While working in finance, Trey learned that paying delinquent property taxes was an expensive problem for hundreds of thousands of Texans each year. He researched the property tax loan industry, and in 2012, Home Tax Solutions was born at his kitchen table. His top priority when establishing HTS was and remains to be financial recovery for consumers – providing Texas property owners a quick and affordable solution to paying their delinquent property taxes. Now, Home Tax Solutions is the fastest growing and largest property tax lender in the state of Texas.
Trey is a fourth generation Texan and has lived in Dallas for nearly 20 years. He is the current president of the Texas Property Tax Lienholders Association and was recently elected to the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries of Dallas, Inc. Together with his wife, Jenna, he actively supports several non-profits and sponsor community programs annually involving their two young sons in these endeavors. When he isn’t at the office, he spends his [very little] free time playing tennis, golfing, biking, and traveling to the Hill Country.
