Trey Rome of Home Tax Solutions Named EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2026 Southwest Finalist

Home Tax Solutions is proud to share that CEO Trey Rome has been named an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2026 Southwest Finalist by Ernst & Young LLP.

This recognition is an exciting milestone for Trey, the Home Tax Solutions team, and the thousands of Texas property owners the company has helped since opening its doors in 2011. It reflects more than business growth. It speaks to the purpose behind the company, the trust built with clients across Texas, and the mission that has guided Home Tax Solutions from the beginning.

The Story Behind Home Tax Solutions

Trey founded Home Tax Solutions in 2011 with a clear goal: to help Texas homeowners and business owners find a real path forward when property tax bills become difficult to manage.

What began at his kitchen table has grown into one of the most recognized property tax lending companies in Texas. Today, Home Tax Solutions serves property owners across all 254 Texas counties and has helped more than 15,000 Texans resolve delinquent property taxes, protect their homes, and keep their businesses moving forward.

As Trey shared in the announcement:

“I’m humbled to be named an EY Entrepreneur of the Year® finalist. I started Home Tax Solutions at my kitchen table, and fifteen years later we’re the largest property tax lender in Texas. Texans face some of the highest property tax rates in the country, and they’re overwhelmed. Home Tax Solutions helps families keep their homes and business owners keep their doors open. Our goal has always been to support our fellow Texans, and we’re just getting started.”

A Mission That Has Grown Across Texas

Since 2011, Home Tax Solutions has originated nearly half a billion dollars in property tax loans, helping homeowners, commercial property owners, and business owners protect their properties and livelihoods.

The company is now the largest originator of property tax loans in Texas, capturing roughly one-third of the market. Under Trey’s leadership, Home Tax Solutions has achieved six times growth in revenue while continuing to focus on the people and communities it serves.

That growth has been driven by a simple but important mission: helping Texans manage property tax challenges with flexible financing options when they need support most.

A Recognition Shared With the Home Tax Solutions Community

While the award recognizes Trey’s leadership, he is quick to share the credit with the people who helped build Home Tax Solutions along the way.

As Trey noted:

This recognition belongs to the clients who trust us, the team that pours itself into our mission daily, and the partners, investors, and communities who believed in us from day one.

For Home Tax Solutions, this honor is not just a reflection of past growth. It is a reminder of the company’s continued commitment to helping Texans protect what matters most.

About the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award

An independent panel of judges selected Trey as one of 44 Southwest finalists for the Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2026 Award. Finalists are evaluated on entrepreneurial spirit, purpose-driven leadership, company performance, and long-term value creation.

Now in its 41st year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year® program has recognized more than 11,000 entrepreneurs across the United States and has expanded to nearly 80 countries and territories globally.

Regional winners will be announced on June 20 at a special celebration in Dallas. Winners will advance to national judging for the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards, presented in November at the Strategic Growth Forum.

Home Tax Solutions is proud to celebrate Trey’s achievement and will be rooting for him every step of the way.
